Swiss farmers have been testing biochar for litter and as a feed additive for years. The experiments will be scientifically monitored within the framework of the international project “Carbofeet”. Biochar is used there as a feed material for regulating digestion and preventing diarrhoea as well as livestock bedding to absorb moisture and reduce odour; it is also used for manure treatment and as a soil improver.
